Maryland Opera is joined by Peter Wood from the Spirit Shop on Falls Road for an afternoon of craft cocktails. Peter will create two cocktails inspired by our November 15 production of The Merry Widow and teach you to make them at home. After that, enjoy the delicious concoctions while Peabody Professor Ernest Liotti delights you with topsy turvy highlights of Lehár’s The Merry Widow to get you in the operetta spirit! Spend a lovely Sunday afternoon sipping and discovering. You’ll even get to take the cocktail recipes home to make for your next cocktail party!

Our holiday tradition continues in the beautiful barn at Boordy Vineyards, featuring the end of Act 1 of La Bohème, the most famous Christmas Eve in opera, and other operatic and seasonal favorites. Make sure to dress for our ugly holiday sweater contest to win a bottle of wine!

Maryland Opera Children's Festival

The Maryland Opera Children's Festival is entirely FREE and welcomes families and young ones for a day of discovery. The event features arts & crafts, an instrument petting zoo, the puppet performers of the MO Outreach Program, cookies and cocoa, and a children's opera version of Hansel and Gretel. There might even be a surprise guest!

New Voices in Opera

Our newest initiative brings fresh operatic works to the Maryland Opera stage. The evening features a double bill of works by up and coming composers as well as a pre-show introduction to these stories and a post-show Q&A with the composers.
