Maryland Opera’s inaugural season continues featuring excerpts from four Puccini operas staged and costumed with chamber orchestra accompaniment and projected English translations.
The program features the finale of Act I of La bohème, where Mimì and Rodolfo meet and fall in love to the most gorgeous love music ever written; continuing to the complete Act III where their love encounters heartbreak, sickness and reconciliation; excerpts from Tosca including celebrated arias “Recondita armonia” and “Vissi d’arte”, The ecstatic Act I ‘Love Duet’ and the dramatic finale; concluding with beloved arias from Edgar and Turandot including the triumphant “Nessun dorma”. Featuring international artists Elizabeth Caballero, Colleen Daly, Amy Shoremount-Obra, Kirk Dougherty, and John Allen Nelson.
